Armchair Oracles’ In Machina

Armchair Oracles’ In Machina

With a well received debut LP and David Bash’s IPO under their belts, Armchair Oracles offer up their follow up LP entitled In Machina. Released toward the end of last year, we somehow missed this one. So we’ll cover it now. Better late than never, as they say.

armchair oracles in machinaThere’s guitar jangle in abundance here. Always a good thing, of course. And while the guitars will immediately pull the listener in, Armchair Oracles bring a good bit more to the table. Whether it’s catchy pop songs or mid-tempo power ballads, you’ll get your guitar fix here.

“Considerations” is an ideal opening track with its catchy chorus and “High Wire Walkers” seems to be getting some well deserved airplay. The cascading guitar riffs of the latter are riveting and the vocals have a little bit of a U2 feel to them. The crunchy guitars at the opening of “Utility Man” and Who-like vibe make this song an immediate favorite of mine. A slower tempo song, “Phantom Bliss” has a power ballad, arena rock feel to it. While not something I normally gravitate toward, this song provides a welcomed bit of variety to the proceedings.

Hailing from Norway, Armchair Oracles are Atle Skogrand (vocals / guitar), Jan Ove Engeset (bass), Charlie Wise (drums) and Bjorn Gamlem (guitar). Their second full length effort, In Machina, is available at Apple Music HERE.
