Tim Lee 3: Tin, Man

Tim Lee 3: Tin, Man

Tin, Man is a little different from previous Tim Lee 3 efforts. The sound is still gritty and the songs are as catchy and intelligently written as always. But since their last album,33 1/3, had an inordinate number of songs about highway travel, I decided to record my thoughts while listening to the disc in my car – with the windows open and going no less than 80 mph at any given moment.

tin-man-coverThe opening song, “Superstition”, is a killer track right out of the Chuck Berry school of kick-ass. Makes you wanna play air guitar while running traffic lights.

Note to self: This was probably not a good idea on a suspended license.

One would assume that “Fall From Grace” is an autobiographical piece about Tim’s post-Windbreaker days. Sounds great – especially with the volume turned up to 11.

Note to self: It pisses cops off if you don’t turn it down when they ask you for your license and registration.

You’ll be singing along to “Couldn’t Help Myself”. “No Rest” is absolutely filthy. Doors and X fans will really dig this track.

If you haven’t heard Tim Lee 3 before, now is a good time. And if you’re a long time fan, you won’t be disappointed. This disc cost me a hundred and seventy bucks and a court date. But you can get it for a lot less. The official release date is October 28. Get your copy directly from the TL3 website.

On a side note, TL3 are a terrific live band. Go see ‘em.
