Boys With The Perpetual Nervousness – The Third Wave of…
We first heard them with 2021’s Songs from Another Life. Now, The Boys With the Perpetual Nervousness are back. They are Gonzalo Marcos and Andrew Taylor and their latest, The Third Wave of, features the kind of guitar jangle that begs comparison to The Byrds or Teenage Fanclub. And lets not forget the songwriting. There are hooks. Lots of ’em.
“As the Day Begins” is the ideal opening track. It’s a short, 2:22 burst of bright, sun shiny power pop. The Boys’ voices sound so good together that it is hard to believe that much of their work is done remotely. “Look Back” is another winner with the kind of pop sensibilities that make me think of Shoes or 92 Degrees.
There’s more jangle to come with perhaps my favorite track on the album, “The Stars Go Round” or the equally engaging “Old Pictures of Ourselves”. There are eleven tracks in all. Every one is a keeper.

Their 2021 effort was one of our top 20 power pop albums of that year. This year’s The Third Wave of” is equally as memorable. Get your digital copy at their Bandcamp page or get the CD at Kool Kat Musik.
