The Corner Laughers – Temescal Telegraph
Its hard to put a label on the Corner Laughers and their new album entitled Temescal Telegraph. There are elements of sunshine pop, psych pop and even country – and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
The lead off track, “The Calculating Boy”, feels like a chapter out of Harry Potter. The tempo changes from the opening organ in “Changling” with its short but hooky chorus and very engaging guitar solo. With “The Accepted Time”, the melody will sweep you off your feet but its the country tinged guitar solo that takes this one to the next level.
Guitar jangle and wonderful harmonies are prevelent throughout Temescal Telegraph not to mention some very tasteful ukelele and so much more. Guest performances from Bradley Skaught and Rex Broome are the icing on the cake.
There are so many elements each working so well together that it makes for one of the most intriguing listening experiences of the year. The Corner Laughers’ Temescal Telegraph will release on June 5 but you can PRE ORDER YOUR COPY HERE.
