Didn’t Planet – Worse In the Rain
Back in 2012, Didn’t Planet released one of my favorite albums of that year entitled We’re Going Nowhere. Their sharp sense of humor, crunchy guitars and colorful storytelling never get old. I still listen to that album fairly often.
It pleases me to say that Worse in the Rain, the new EP from Didn’t Planet, picks up where Nowhere left off – with big guitars, bigger hooks and sense of humor all intact.
Things start off with handclaps and harmonies on “Why Am I Even Trying?” until some seriously crunchy guitars kick in. It’s a day-in-the-life story that really relates. The title track is a bouncy little number and a natural single.
Get ready for another Didn’t Planet classic with “Hello Germany”. If the thundering guitars don’t get you, the lyrics will. It’s catchy, funny, smart and kicks ass.
Its too late now. You know, I told my wife. I told my boss. Momma says I’ll be the biggest thing since Hasselhoff. Great stuff.
It’s easy to identify with “Mixtape”, a generational take on the relationship gone wrong song and “Abe Lincoln” is impossibly catchy with simple but wonderful harmonies. Things slow down with the closing track, “Catastrophe”, giving the band the appropriate sign off.
Worse in the Rain is another excellent effort from Didn’t Planet. Hopefully, this is a precursor to another full length album. In the meantime, You’ll wanna pick this one up.
Worse in the Rain is available on Amazon Music, Apple Music, Spotify, and Google Play.
