Nick Piunti – Temporary High

Nick Piunti’s Trust Your Instincts was one of this blog’s favorite albums of 2016. Now, Nick is back with Temporary High, a new release featuring Chris Richards and more of the chiming guitars and pop hooks that we’ve come to expect from a Nick Piunti record.

nick piuntiIf you’re looking for a single, there are plenty of songs to choose from. The Tom Petty-ish “You Invented Hell” is an immediate favorite. “If This Was Right” has a Big Star feel to it and is equally as engaging.

However, the big payoff is “No Return”. With a melody that sticks and a sing along chorus that’s sure to resonate with anyone who loves a good pop hook, songs like this are the reason why rock ‘n’ roll will never die.

It’s also worth mentioning that Donny Brown is back on drums and Andy Reed on bass and B3 organ. Geoff Michael is the producer.

Nick Piunti’s Temporary High is one of this year’s best so far. It’s available through several online channels including iTunes, Bandcamp and Amazon. You can get the physical product through Target. Get it any way you can.
