Richard Turgeon, Ego Ritual & Geoffrey Palmer
With the recent flurry of singles that have come out recently, the time seems right to talk about the best of the best. Richard Turgeon, Ego Ritual and Geoff Palmer (The Connection) have all released stellar tracks well worth the time to check out.
Richard Turgeon is recording his second LP entitled Lost Angeles. In Between the Spaces (his first) was one of the best of 2017. Richard describes this one as follows: “It’s big-sounding, California power pop with lots of nice harmonies and melody”. The single, “Big Break”, is out and it most certainly fits that description. Jim Styring (Pop Dogs, B-Leaguers) is back with a new band. Ego Ritual is recording their debut EP for Kool Kat Musik and the single, “Chakra Maraka” is a killer piece of psych-pop. If this track is indicative of what is in store for us, the EP will be memorable.
You probably know Geoff Palmer from his work with The Connection. He’s doing a series of singles throughout the year, recording with a “slew of different friends”. The second single in the series is out and it’s a corker. Appropriately named “This One’s Gonna Be Hot”, it puts the F in F-F-FUN. Get it HERE.
