Cheap Cassettes – Ever Since Ever Since
Cheap Cassettes are the consummate bar room band. Their music is driven by dynamic guitar riffs and big choruses delivered with a Jagger-like swagger. So, what better way to start the new year than with their new full length entitled Ever Since Ever Since ?
From the get-go it’s maximum rock ‘n’ roll with “She Ain’t Nothin’ Like You”. Filthy dirty guitar carries the listener through to a chorus that simply rolls off the tongue. “Red Line Blue” is an unforgettable melody – and let’s talk about Kurt Bloch’s organ for a moment. It’s huge.
The jangle of “There Goes That Girl” takes you back to the heyday of power pop. Your heart will start pumping to the driving rhythm of “How I Got What I Wanted”. Each successive track turns this into a real thrill ride.
The best album experiences have a surprise or two. On Ever Since Ever Since, it’s the final track. The lyrical content is extraordinary and Charles Matthews vocals, equally as expressive. With its acoustic treatment, these strengths are given center stage. It’s a gem.
The official release date is January 14 but you can pre-order The Cheap Cassettes’ Ever Since Ever Since at the band’s Bandcamp page right now. And while you’re at it, check out a few of their previous releases like 2021’s See Her In Action or 2017’s All Anxious All The Time. You’ll dig ‘em all.
