The Jellybricks – Dreaming in Stereo
The only band from Harrisburg PA that matters, The Jellybricks are back with their unique brand of harmony driven pop with a punch. Their latest entitled Dreaming In Stereo has all the elements that make them relevant for the past two decades – their hooky choruses, ringing guitars and memorable harmonies absolutely command the attention of anyone within earshot.
The opening track, “Age of Stupid”, packs a pop-punk wallop. You’ll identify with this take regardless of your political persuasion ‘cause dammit, it’s true. The sparkling guitars of the title track carry the listener into a memorable chorus and pleasing harmonies. “Monday’s Never” is pure pop and the pounding beat of “Let You Down” will have you slapping the table and taping your feet.
Detour Into the Unexpected
Another uber-catchy track, “Enchanted I Am” features more guitar chime, positive lyrics and a big, hooky chorus. The trippy “Follow That Girl” is a nice detour into the unexpected. “Do It When You’re Done” kicks the album into overdrive until the jangle of “Crazy Weather” brings us back to power pop nirvana.
The band are Larry Kennedy (guitar, vocals), Garrick Chow (bass guitar, vocals), Bryce Connor (guitar, vocals) and Tom Kristich (drums, vocals). It’s also worth mentioning the fantastic production job done by Geoff Sanoff and stellar guitar work of Doug Gillard (Guided By Voices) on a couple tracks.
