Thanksgiving w/ John Wicks & Peter Case
Being that it’s Thanksgiving, I’d like to share a video with you that has everything to do with the season. Back a couple of summers ago, John Wicks of The Records was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. A benefit was held shortly after to help him defer some of the medical expenses. The list of celebrities performing that night was impressive, to say the least. Appearing were The Bangles, Denny Laine (Moody Blues, Paul McCartney & Wings), Peter Asher, Al Stewart, Peter Case (Plimsouls) and The Records, of course, among others.
Peter Case doesn’t do Plimsouls songs any more. But that night, he made an exception. And I was absolutely floored, not having had the chance to see The Plimsouls in their heyday. So here’s the video for everyone to see/hear. I’ve condensed it down to three songs; “How Long Will It Take?”, “Zero Hour” and “A Million Miles Away”.
For those wondering, John is doing well. That’s the Thanksgiving part. He’s still performing, writing and recording. He’s recently completed a new single which will be released before too long. So, there’s plenty to be thankful for this year. You can stay posted on it’s release by visiting his website at johnwicksandtherecords.com.
Here’s John Wicks & The Records from that same evening, performing some of their best known hits. Songs included “All Messed Up & Ready”, “Teenarama”, and everyone’s favorite power pop song of all time, “Starry Eyes”.
Happy Thanksgiving to you all!
