Cheap Cassettes’ Kiss the Ass of My Heart
At the beginning of last year, The Cheap Cassettes released a pretty good LP entitled All Anxious All The Time. When I saw the name of their follow up EP, I had to smile. Kiss the Ass of My Heart. Yes, that’s right. My first thought was “this is either really good or really stupid”. It’s both – in a glorious kinda way.
One cannot help but grin a little when hearing the chorus of the title track. Here’s the thing, though. It’s simple. It’s catchy. It seriously kicks ass. And it’s one of four tracks, all of which have a kind of edgy swagger.
Don’t get me wrong. The Cheap Cassettes are not The Stones or The Replacements. But they have the humor, the guitars and the attitude. And that goes a long way with me.
Here’s a random thought. If you take a heart and flip it upside down, if looks like an ass. Just an observation.
