Powerpop Guitar Chords: Fabulous Poodles – Mirror Star

Powerpop Guitar Chords: Fabulous Poodles – Mirror Star

One of the most underrated pub rock bands of their time, The Fabulous Poodles nearly had a US hit when their single, “Mirror Stars” cracked the Billboard charts in 1978. The LP from which it came (same title) had a number of top-flight tracks including “Chicago Boxcar Boston Back”, “Mr. Mike”, “Oh Cheryl” and “tit Photographer Blues”. They were great players and didn’t take themselves too seriously.

“Mirror Star” is a classic song and one that, even 35 years later, still sounds fresh and fun. The chords are below. As always, please post a comment should you note any imperfections and suggest an alternative.

  1. This is a great song! I was wondering if they had the guitar tuned to an open tuning or standard tuning when they played it…

    • Standard tuning, as far as I know. I’ve tried to contact Tony de Meur to find out for sure but have never heard back from him. Thanks so much for stopping by Power Pop News. It’s appreciated. If I learn otherwise, I’ll surely let you know.
