Clem Burke & Co form The Empty Hearts

In the 90’s he had a cup of coffee as The Records’ drummer, moved on to appear in a reincarnation of Peter Case’s Plimsouls, and was last seen as a member of supergroup The Split Squad along with Keith Streng (Fleshtones), Eddie Munoz (The Plimsouls), Mike Giblin (Parralax Project), and Josh Cantor (Baseball Project). In fact, they put out a very fine CD just 6 months or so ago.

As good as Split Squad was, this one promises to be extraordinary. The Empty Hearts consist of Burke, Elliot Easton (The Cars), Wally Palmer (The Romantics), and Andy Babiuk of The Chesterfield Kings. And they already have one release in the can!

Scheduled for release in August, Burke describes The Empty Hearts debut LP as “a bracing sound shaped by influences which span decades and include ’50′s American roots rock ‘n’ roll, 60′s British invasion and 70′s garage-punk.”
