The Records rock to benefit the Scleroderma Foundation

The Records rock to benefit the Scleroderma Foundation

Every once in a while a good cause and a great band come together to make for a very worthwhile effort. This is just such a time. This from John Wicks, The Records, and Joel Cherman of the Scleroderma Foundation of Southern California:

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT FOLKS!!!
For the second straight year, the band and I are playing at the Annual Scleroderma Foundation Walkathon on Sunday, June 3rd at La Mirada Regional Park in La Mirada, California. My good friend Joel Cherman, lost his dad 12 years ago due to complications from Scleroderma. We’ll be playing in memory of Joel’s dad to help raise money for the foundation.

Scleroderma is a chronic, degenerative, autoimmune disease that affects the body’s connective tissue due to an overproduction of collagen. Progression of the disease occurs at different paces, frequently involving complications of the internal organs. It is a painful, life altering disease that is often fatal. The Foundation raises money to help patients and their families cope with the disease and to fund research to improve treatment and ultimately find a cure.

YOU can help the foundation by purchasing the recent re-release of “Rotate,” which includes additional tracks and a new, re-done, mega-improved version of “Starry Eyes.” For every $14.95 copy you buy at the Pay Pal link below, $5.00 will be donated to the foundation! All copies will be signed by me.

Signed copies of the CD will also be available for purchase (same deal) at the Walkathon. Come to the park on 6/3 to join the party, support the cause, and watch us play. We expect to go on sometime between 9:30 and 10:30. Hope to see you there! – John

  1. Autoimmune diseases are really hard to cure. Perhaps stem cell research can do something about it.
